Hi Paul, Bas and Isabelle!!

Here we are again, and pleased to plan a meeting soooo soon!

The weather here is great, the girls are almost nude and the boys go out the gyms muscled and browned... so it's beach time!

Here i'll show you all you need to know to make an idea of what can we offer in here.

Background: 5 years ago we got this house in Tarraco beacuse we DO miss the beach and we wanted somthing in catalonia. As i've allways been in hollidays in Salou (my grandparents had a little apartment there) we choosed this are because it's not that far as Barcelona, it cheaper and it's very well located. My father's family is from Lerida (lleida in catalonian) and it's just 1 hopur off from Barcelona. If salou is bussy and touristic, Montroig is quiet and calm, maybe in excess!! But you take the car and you are 15 minutres far from salou, cambrils, and many other mediterranean fisher's towns that the tourist's don't know but... i do!

Sooooooooooo where to begin? Ok

where is it located? Spain is divided as you know in regions which have their own goverment, and catalonia is divided in 4 provinces: Barcelona, Tarragona, LLeida and Girona.

Tarragona is famous for... well... the petrochemical facilities :D and it's name comes from the Romans, Tarraconensis. Here the Scipions brothers landed and occupied spain. Tarraconensis was itself a roman province and a Roman emperor was from there... i don't remember which.

SOOO you want roman ruins? GREAT ypu'll see archs, theaters, houses... etc etc etc IN fact, the place where we got the house is called "Vila Romana" which means Roman Village.

view from the car of the "Arc de Bara"

In the province of tarragona we go to the south, direction to the Ebro's Delta , and we find Salou and Cambrils. Beneath it there's Hostpitalt del infant, we are between Cambrils and Hospitalet. The town is Montroig but it's pretty far from the house.

The Landscape

the house is in a.. urbanization? i don't know how you ssay it, a complex... many similar houses. the complex is Vila romana, and most of it is still under construction.

Vila romana is made in "nowhere" so it's not in a town or city, whici is great to be quiet. One side the mountains and the other side the sea. It's just 5 minutes walking from the beach, let's see the map:

It's besides "Camping Playa Montroig" which is one of the best campings in Europe, very famous in Holland BTW. Camping and Luxury? yeah.. it's extrange... So when the complex is finished will have a golf camp, an hotel, a mall... etc etc... Let'ss see our place (wonderfull):

SOOOOOO that's the house, what about the beach?

and the picture above of the map, it's a huge beach but i don't usually go there, i usually go aother beaches around

What to do there????

that's the best, you have port aventura at 15 minutes

there's a wonderful castle 20 minutes far, which BTW has a road to get there that is "better" than any roller coaster, just insane...

there's Salou a veeeeeeery toursitic town plenty of teenagers drunk, and holland's,

and besides salou there's Cambrils, lovely place, where we are gonna eat at "El Posito" the beeeeeeeesttttttttt fish in the mediterranean, i love that place and it's cheap! Everyone in catalonia knows "el posito" and it's rows... ppl make a row for hours to dinner there, so we'll have to go soon (for me) 20:00 more or less. I always go at this tiome and never made a row, but when u get out.... hundreds of ppl! :) They just kick you out when u have paid :P

cambrils

Cambrils is a old fisshers town, with the tipicall mediterranean ships, lovely.

BTW! Talking about food... there's a holland restaurant in Salou where i only can ask for burgers, and they told me the food there is great, but of course, when i see the menu... NO WAY MAN, so if u want to east some holland's food we can go there too

Of course we'll go to barcelona to spend a day, the good thing is that we can go and come back the same day, and you know catalonia :) More things to do, of course, with money... but as i told you excepting port aventura everything is cheap and free. We can buy the food, cook in our place, go to the beach, go to the towns... everything fun is free ;)

the bad news: Chychy is not comming, at least for the moment, her family is going on holidays in august so her mom is alone and she's staying with her. And maybe we find my parents there, in the house, but we have room enought to stay and well... they don't disturb very much

SOOOOOOOOO (last so, i promise) PAUL u've got to make it. I think bas and isabelle are almost sure in.

The plan is easy, you come by plane to barcelona i pick you there and spend a week or so, 7 days is great so weve got time to see everything! The flights are reaaally cheap from holland in transavia if you pick them soon. I don't know from glasgow... There's a closest airport in Reus, but i guess it's more expensive and difficult to find planes.

About the dates

i've got examns in september so it has to be done in august, bas told me he prefered the last week, for me it's ok, i think i'll spend most of august there, or if i find a cheap trip to scotland i'd love to go to visit paul in august if he's OK
